Arabic for diplomats
This course “Arabic for Diplomats” is designed for people who want to learn Arabic and who work in the diplomatic corps, generally in Arab countries and particularly in Gulf
countries and Saudi Arabia. The goal of the program is to meet the needs of the diplomatic work environment and to prevent misunderstandings.
The topics and vocabulary of the program have been selected from the diplomatic field, to maximize its benefits for those
who are working in this field and to help them gain the ability to speak Arabic spontaneously and fluently.

The student learns the basics of
reading and writing; practices simple listening activities and communicates
in very simple situations, such as greeting, meeting people, introducing
others, ordering food & drink and responding to the instructor’s
directions. He/she uses Arabic grammar in an acceptable manner, especially in
forming short statements, noun clauses and questions. He/she has more than
250 words for daily use.

The student masters the basics of
writing and reading; improves his/her listening skills & distinguishes
the Arabic sounds better and develops his/her skills in speaking &
communication in common life situations such as shopping, securing
accommodation and
traveling. The student’s ability to use Arabic grammar improves, and his/her vocabulary
widens to encompass more than 500 popular words for daily communication.

– Training the learner on writing
principles without misspelling and develops written expression, particularly
in the areas pertinent to his/her work.

The student’s listening skill and comprehension of learner’s work-related
texts.

He/she becomes acquainted with Arabian culture in general and Saudi
Arabia in particular.

The student develops skills of self-learning and self-reliance in
research and knowledge acquisition.

– Give the learner the skills of using the Arabic
language (listening and speaking, reading and writing) for communication in
the political, diplomatic and military fields.

The student’s conversational skills are honed
through special attention to the oral aspect of language, so the learner can communicate
with official and unofficial figures in correct and understandable Arabic,
taking into account the requirements of the environment in terms of vocabulary,
phrases, and frequently used combinations.

Reading and comprehension skills are developed further, and the learner is encouraged to read independently works
written in Arabic.

The student’s comprehension of diplomatic and political texts improves, and he/she is able to discuss their content
and identify specific information and ideas.

to discuss previously selected topics.

course in which the learners, the teacher and the linguistic partner to

calling applications either in a group or individually.

Linguistic immersion

An Arabian
learning environment for learners:

Arabian house: a venue (rest house or farm) at
which the students speak in the Arabic language only with the teacher, the
linguistic partner and a group of Arabic masters.

Arabian day: an escorted excursion to various
places in the city with the linguistic partner to practice Arabic in everyday
situations.
